We are a family-owned business, rooted in love and three generations strong. It all started in the early ‘70s when JD’s grandfather planted the first seeds of what would grow into something truly special. In 2005, JD took the reins from his parents, and with the help of an amazing team, he has nurtured Dothan Nurseries into a place full of beauty, warmth, and a little bit of magic.

Our biggest hope? That every time you visit, you feel welcomed, inspired, and cared for. Whether you're here for trees, shrubs, houseplants, fountains, or just a peaceful stroll, we want you to leave happier than when you arrived. If we don’t make your day a little brighter, then we haven’t done our job.

Hello and a warm welcome to Dothan Nurseries! I'm JD Boone, the proud owner, and I'm genuinely excited that you've decided to pay us a visit. Allow me to share a bit about my background – my connection to the nursery and landscaping world goes way back, thanks to my parents who embarked on this journey in the vibrant era of the '70s. Growing up amidst the lush beauty of plants and landscapes, I've developed a profound affection for this industry.But here's the scoop – what we're all about at Dothan Nurseries goes beyond mere plant sales. Life has showered me with incredible blessings, and I'm committed to paying it forward. That's why I believe in giving back to the community that has supported us. Mondae

General Manager

Meet Mondae, an animal enthusiast passionate about creatures of all sizes. As our dedicated general manager, she ensures smooth nursery operations and steps in wherever needed. Mondae also showcases her talent as an equine photographer and adds creative flair to our website, playing a vital role in harmonizing all our elements.

Megan

Color Team Manager/Landscape Design

Megan holds degrees in veterinary medicine and real estate. In 2020, she discovered a love for plants, which is now central to her life.

As the Annuals & Perennials Manager and Landscape Designer at Dothan Nurseries, she curates and designs the nursery's offerings. Megan's commitment to excellence and her love for animals, especially orange cats, snakes, and lizards, highlight her compassionate nature.

Cody

Greenhouse Manager

Meet Cody, a Wiregrass native with a wanderlust spirit. He's explored destinations from Alaska to Mexico but is now back home for a few years.

Cody's houseplant collection is stunning, showcasing his wide-ranging expertise. He's your go-to guy for almost everything here, ensuring you're in knowledgeable hands!

Danielle

Buyer/Social Media Manager

Meet Danielle, our creative powerhouse and trendsetter. With a Philosophy degree from Auburn, she's the mind behind our showroom and renovations, bringing the latest styles to Dothan Nurseries.

A Wiregrass native, Danielle infuses artistic flair into everything she does. When not finding new products, she's with her cats, Luna, Leo, and Lucy. She's also an artist in design and music, playing guitar and singing.

Jordan

Color Team Associate

Meet Jordan, a Dothan, AL native. After seven years in Auburn, she's back home, shifting from animal work to a new green adventure.

Jordan brings botanical expertise and a sweet, whimsical spirit. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, nature, music festivals, and spending time with her two cats, dog, family, and friends.

Joy

Color Team Associate

Allow us to introduce Joy, a true local of the Wiregrass region. Taking a departure from her medical career, she's now getting her hands delightfully dirty with us!

In her spare moments, Joy finds solace in life's simpler pleasures alongside her husband and their two boys, Connor and Trevor. Their family moments are a true testament to the beauty of life's uncomplicated joys.

Frandy

Showroom Associate

Meet Frandy, a Shalimar, Florida native who now calls the Wiregrass home. With a background in the food industry, she's now starting a new journey with us. Frandy is a fantastic addition to our team and is quickly becoming a plant enthusiast.

David

Grounds Maintenance

David enjoys watching his two children grow up. He works hard outside of Dothan Nurseries keeping his yard beautiful. Here at Dothan Nurseries, he plays a crucial role in maintaining the outdoor spaces around the nursery.

Betsy

Greenhouse Associate

Betsy is an avid gardener and vloger. She enjoys spending time outside gardening or in a shady spot with a book in her hand. She is also a lover of Daushaunds & her sweet Yorkie.

In tribute to Bob, now retired, his days are filled with crafting stories that leap off the page, each word a brushstroke painting vivid scenes of the great outdoors he so dearly loves. His books are a testament to his passion, reflecting the beauty he finds in nature's embrace. Bob's retirement is a chapter of exploration, where every trail and vista becomes a source of inspiration for his next narrative. His love for the outdoors is not just a hobby but a way of life, grounding him in the beauty of the world around him. He is dearly missed, his presence a gentle reminder of the impact he has had on those around him. We have his book *Blood in Lake Eufaula* here for sale, and we eagerly anticipate more literary treasures from his retirement for us to enjoy.
