This little conifer stands out immediately with its upright shape and incredibly bright chartreuse-gold foliage. Gently brush or rub the foliage and you’ll discover where the “lemon” part comes from: it releases a fresh citrusy scent.
Lemon Cypress is especially fun during fall and the holidays when its naturally narrow, Christmas-tree shape looks right at home in containers, porch pots, and seasonal displays. Dress it up for Christmas, then keep enjoying it long after the decorations come down.

☀️ Light: Full sun to part sun outdoors. Give it plenty of bright light if temporarily enjoyed indoors.
📏 Mature Size: Can eventually grow into a small tree in suitable conditions, although it stays much smaller when grown in a container.
🌿 Foliage: Bright chartreuse to golden-green with a fresh lemony scent when brushed or crushed
🌲 Growth Habit: Naturally upright, narrow, and conical

💧 Water: Keep evenly moist but never soggy. Container-grown plants can dry out quickly, so check them regularly.
