Paperwhite Bulbs

There’s something ridiculously satisfying about watching a Paperwhite bulb turn into a whole bunch of flowers right in the middle of winter. 🤍

Paperwhites are one of the easiest bulbs to force indoors. Give them a container, a little water, and a bright spot, and they’ll quickly send up tall green stems topped with clusters of small, star-shaped white flowers.

And yes, you can grow them without soil! Nestle the bulbs into pebbles, gravel, decorative stones, or glass beads with water just reaching the base of the bulbs. They’re beautiful planted together in bowls, glass containers, or holiday centerpieces.

🤍 Bulb Details

🌱 No Soil Needed: Grow in pebbles, gravel, decorative stones, or potting mix.

☀️ Light: Keep in a bright spot indoors. Once growth begins, plenty of light will help keep the stems from stretching too much.

📏 Size: Typically grows approximately 12–18 inches tall when blooming.

🤍 Flowers: Clusters of small, crisp white, star-shaped flowers

👃 Fragrance: Paperwhites are famously fragrant! Their scent is strong and distinctive, so they're especially nice in areas where you can enjoy their fragrance.

💧 Water: When growing without soil, add water until it reaches just below the bottom of the bulbs. The roots can reach the water, but keeping the bulbs submerged can cause rot.

⏰ Bloom Time: Usually blooms about 4–6 weeks after starting, depending on temperature and growing conditions.

🪴 Great For: Holiday centerpieces, bowls, glass containers, gifts, windowsills, and growing with kids so they can watch the roots and stems develop.

🎄 Fun Idea: Plant several together in one pretty bowl for a simple living centerpiece that grows and changes throughout the holiday season.

A handful of bulbs, a little water, and a few weeks later... you've got flowers in the middle of winter. 🤍
